The Libre 2 sensor has Bluetooth connectivity that allows it to alert users with a sound or vibration if their Blood Glucose is high or low in real-time without scanning. The alert triggers users to scan their sensor with a reader to see their actual Blood Glucose number and make any necessary adjustments. These alerts are customizable and optional. Both the original FreeStyle Libre and Libre 2 are designed to be scanned with a compatible reader and/or an application. The original FreeStyle Libre has the “FreeStyle LibreLink '' app and the Libre 2 has the “FreeStyle Libre 2” app to scan the Continuous Glucose Monitoring sensor and obtain blood glucose information. The Libre 2 has easy-to-apply sensors that are the size of two stacked quarters and can be worn on the back of the upper arm for 14 days and measure blood glucose every 1 min. After scanning Libre 2, the reader provides glucose readings from the last 8 hours and considers flash technology. Libre 2 has a 1 hour warm-up time and neither requires calibrations. The sensor is to be used in conjunction with Freestyle Libre 2 Reader and / or mobile applications as directed by your Doctor.

• 70 mg/dL is the default Low Glucose Alarm level and can be set between 60 mg/dL - 100 mg/dL and 240 mg/L is the default High Glucose Alarm level and can be set between 120 mg/dL - 400 mg/dL.
